FX June Luncheon: Panel Discussion

June 26, 2020 @ 11:30 am 1:00 pm

Grab your own lunch and join us for a very informative panel discussion on current events and past experiences.

About this Event

Often, we consume content through one narrow lens. As a result, we fail to understand different perspectives and the entirety of a situation.

It doesn’t have to remain this way, though.

Kansas City is home to a number of black-owned and minority-focused publications. On June 26, FX of KC will host Community Voices, a virtual roundtable discussion with local minority media leaders to hear their perspective and to learn about their publications, experiences, and challenges they face.

Panelists include Ruth Ramsey, publisher of Our Health Matters Magazine, and Saleem Rasheed, Jr., Publisher of Taking Care of Business Magazine, and Eric Wesson, Managing Editor and Publisher of The Kansas City Call. To facilitate meaningful dialogue at the event, we encourage attendees to submit questions beforehand. Please submit these to [email protected].

Join us for this virtual lunch and learn Friday, June 26th, on Zoom. Register to get the link.

FREE for FX members; $10 for non-members

It’s Tax Time! What You Need to Know to Make It Through the Season – FX of KC January Luncheon

January 31, 2020 @ 11:30 am 1:00 pm

It’s Tax Time! What You Need to Know to Make It Through the Season

Knowing that it’s tax season can make any freelancer or small business owner shudder. It’s the very thing many creatives and savvy business owners dread. But it doesn’t have to be so difficult, if you know what you’re doing.

The Freelance Exchange is proud to invite our favorite accountant (and tax preparer for several Freelance Exchange members), Jeff Green of Green & Company, back for a lively and informative discussion on best practices for preparing your taxes. Green will also share what’s changed in the last year, and speak to the recent changes in retirement planning. Whether for yourself, a partner or aging parents—where you may be a beneficiary—you’ll want to be in the know. As always, Jeff will answer your questions!

About the Speaker

With more than 18 years of public accounting experience—including the last eight years committed to his own business—Jeff Green provides comprehensive accounting, audit, and tax services for businesses and individuals in the Kansas City metropolitan area. Jeff is a native of Memphis, Tennessee, has an MS in Taxation from the University of Memphis and a BS in Business Administration/Accounting from the University of Tennessee at Martin. He is a CPA, certified in Kansas and Missouri, and is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and the Missouri Society of Certified Public Accountants.
